Free COVID-19 PCR tests are back at all our Drive-Through Walk-In Labs! Simply come through, no booking or doctor’s referral required.
When you get tested with our completely free and anonymous study, you will also receive a free Medical Results Certificate with each test within 24hrs. This certificate can be used for work, or for admission to areas that require antigen tests.
Who Can Take Part?
You need to think you might have COVID to take part. To get this free test, you must have been exposed to COVID or have COVID like symptoms.
How Can I Take Part?
To take part you just need to come to our Walk-In Lab in Hillcrest (KZN), Rondebosch (WC), or Randburg (GP). You can also make a booking here or WhatsApp our team at 072 843 7564. Please note that as COVID is low at the moment, so this study test is very quick!
What Does Taking Part In A Study Mean?
When you come through to our Walk-In Lab, you will see our nurses and ask to take part in our free study tests. Our nurse will ask you a few study questions. There are no right or wrong answers to these questions. We are just trying to learn more about this virus.
We will then give you more information on this study and some forms to sign. At this point, we will explain your rights as a study participant. Not many people know that studies in South Africa are very strict and Epicentre like all sample collectors is monitored and bound by a committee to make sure you feel safe and that your rights and anonymity is protected. Our highly trained nurses will then gently take your sample and send it with a courier to our lab for processing. Our lab will automatically let you know when it has been put in the machine for testing and when your result has been released.
