They are simply the best! Good customer service, cognisant of the need for sensitivity and confidentiality and very friendly. I used to do my tests with another facility but now I’m a repeat client at Epicentre and the best part is that they take walk-ins. I needed to do a lot of tests and screenings two weeks ago, the results were delivered earlier than promised and yesterday, I went back for other tests. Please check them out, you won’t regret it! My experience getting blood tests at the Epicentre has been excellent as the staff are all very friendly and professionally. The staff are well trained at taking blood painlessly and if they feel they can’t find the vain they will find a more senior staff member to do it. As someone with difficult collapsed veins i never worry about becoming a pin cushion at Epicentre.

The Mumps Test Package Explained
Mumps Viral PCR
This test uses a cotton swab lightly rubbed against the inside of the nose or throat to catch samples of the mumps virus. This swab is then sent to the laboratory in a viral transport medium for further viral cell culture and virus identification.

Coming in for this package is easy. You can book a test on our site or just come through to one of our Drive-Thru testing centres.
Due to mumps being highly infective, please stay in your car and call into our branch. Our nurse will come to your car and test you.
Your results will then send through your results to your email within 48-72hrs.
Who Should Get the Mumps Test Package?
Getting the Mumps Test is Helpful if:
Getting the mumps test is helpful if you have symptoms of mumps
Mumps symptoms usually start up to 16 – 18 days after you’ve been exposed to the virus.
✔ Symptoms usually start with a headache, malaise (weakness and fatigue) and a fever
✔ About a day later, the typical and characteristic swelling of the (salivary) glands generally happens
This test can confirm whether you have mumps or another condition that causes similar symptoms.
Getting the mumps test is also helpful if you have been exposed to someone who has mumps or if you work in a high risk job such as a daycare or school teacher, or a health professional. The test can help you determine your immunity status and whether you need a vaccine or immune globulin to prevent infection.
When Should You Get the Mumps Test Package?
This test is most successful at testing for this virus when they get tested within 3 days of getting symptoms; but, a person should get the test within 7 days, and not more than 10 days, after symptoms appearer.
