WhatsApp usWhat does the screen check for?
A quick, confidential STI overview from a single blood sample, covering five common infections with antibody and screening blood tests.
HIV
HIV Screen (ELISA). A blood test that looks for signs of HIV. A reactive result is always confirmed with a second, different test before it is treated as a diagnosis.
Syphilis
Syphilis (RPR/VDRL). A screening blood test for syphilis. A reactive result is confirmed with a further test and is very treatable.
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B. A blood test that screens for hepatitis B, a virus that affects the liver.
Herpes (HSV-2)
Herpes Simplex Virus 2. A blood antibody test for HSV-2. It shows exposure, not where or when, so positives are discussed with a doctor.
Chlamydia (antibody)
Chlamydia IgM. A blood antibody test for chlamydia. For a current infection, a urine or swab PCR test is more reliable, so this is a screening overview.

What people say
Friendly and competent staff. Both at reception and the nurse. A much simpler process than going through doctors. Thank you ladies.
The staff at reception as well as the nurses are friendly and professional. I've also always received results timeously. I would give 10 stars if I could.
Highly highly highly recommend. The experience was painless and the practice was inviting and well kept. The report was extremely detailed and informative and I would have this as top of my list for preventive care.
Amazing experience, highly professional staff. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
I cannot recommend Juliette and her team enough, friendly and kind from the get go. Bloods were drawn with minimal discomfort and the labs came back quickly.
Excellent experience at Epicentre. The staff were professional, kind, and took time to explain everything clearly. The facility was clean, booking was easy, and I did not feel rushed.
What this does not do
This is a quick, blood-based screen. It is a useful overview, but timing and the type of test matter, and serious recent exposures need urgent care.
- Antibody (serology) blood tests have a window period: a recent infection can be missed soon after exposure, so a repeat test may be advised.
- A reactive HIV or syphilis screen is always confirmed with a second, different test before it is treated as a diagnosis.
- This blood screen is not the same as a PCR swab or urine test. For a current, active infection, especially chlamydia, a swab or urine PCR screen is more reliable; ask about the Small or Medium Sexual Health screens.
- It does not cover every STI. If you may have been exposed to HIV in the last 72 hours, seek care urgently, as preventive treatment can only be started in a short window.
