Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. Walk in or book online. Over 180 tests from R63. Full guide.
Do I need to fast before testing?
Most tests do not require fasting. For glucose or cholesterol (lipogram) tests, avoid eating for 8 – 12 hours before your visit. Water is fine.
How long do results take?
Blood: 2 – 5 working days. PCR swab: 5 – 7 working days. Urgent: antibody tests under 24 hours (no extra charge), PCR from 48 hours (additional fee). All results via email.
What payment methods are accepted?
Cash, card, EFT and Payflex (4 interest-free instalments). Some tests claimable from medical aid preventive benefits. 10% student discount. 10% pensioner discount. All prices include VAT.
Is parking available?
Street parking on Lower Main Road. The lab is near Observatory train station for public transport users. The area is walkable from UCT and surrounding suburbs.
Can I test anonymously?
