What does the test check?
One clear result: whether HPV is present.
A clear first answer. This test detects whether HPV is present. If it is, the Comprehensive HPV Package can name exactly which of 28 types you carry.

The kit comes in two versions: a pink label for vaginal sampling and a blue label for penile sampling. After you order, we call to check which one to send.

How to take your sample at home
It takes about five minutes: the swab, then a urine sample. The instruction sheet in your box shows every step with pictures.
Before you start: don’t pee for at least 1 hour before you collect, and wash your hands before and after.
The vaginal swab
- Take the swab out of its tube. Don’t touch the soft tip.
- Insert the swab into your vagina.
- Gently rotate it clockwise for 10 to 30 seconds.
- Put it back in the tube and close the lid firmly. Wash your hands.
The urethral swab
- Take the swab out of its tube. Don’t touch the soft tip.
- Insert the swab 2 to 4 cm into the urethra, the opening at the tip of the penis.
- Gently rotate it clockwise for 2 to 3 seconds.
- Put it back in the tube and close the lid firmly. Wash your hands.
The urine sample
- Wash your hands and open the jar, ideally next to the toilet.
- Clean yourself with toilet paper. If you have a vulva, wipe from front to back.
- Start peeing into the toilet, then fill the jar halfway from the middle of the stream.
- Close the lid firmly, then stretch the seal strip tightly around the lid so it can’t leak.
Sending it back
- Sign the formRead the information sheet, sign the consent form and put it back in the box.
- Pack your samplesPut the swab and the jar in the zip-lock bag, and the bag in the box.
- Send us a photoWhatsApp a photo of the open box to 072 843 7564. We’ll check everything is there.
- Seal it and we’ll collectSeal the box with the sticker. We book The Courier Guy to collect it from you, and you can track it online.

What this test does not do
- This test says whether HPV is present, not which type. The Comprehensive HPV Package names the type.
- HPV is very common and most infections clear on their own. A positive result is not a cancer diagnosis.
- If you have severe pain, a fever or feel very unwell, see a doctor or go to an emergency unit now rather than waiting for results.
- Your report is a starting point for a conversation with your doctor. Epicentre does not diagnose, treat or prescribe.
