Testing for Pretoria, Centurion and Midrand
We don't have a lab in Pretoria. Since May, 16 people from Pretoria have messaged us to ask if we do. So here's how to test with us without the drive to Johannesburg.
Home test kit
Delivered the next day by The Courier Guy, in plain packaging. The delivery fee of R300 covers the return trip too, so you take the sample at home and the courier brings it back to us. For swab, urine and stool PCR tests.
Choose a home kitNurse home visit, R650
A nurse comes to your home or office to take blood. The visit takes about 15 minutes. It's R650 per visit, not per person, so if your partner or family is testing too, it's still one call-out. Visits are Monday to Friday, and we recommend mornings before 11am. Book at least two days ahead.
Book a nurse visitParktown North lab
Our nearest lab is in Parktown North, Johannesburg, about an hour from central Pretoria depending on traffic. Walk in Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:00, or book a time.

PCR tests for sexual health and gut health don't involve blood at all. You take a swab, or a urine or stool sample, yourself, and it's painless. If needles are what's putting you off, that's one less thing to worry about.
If you need blood taken, the nurse who visits is usually Lucia, from our Johannesburg lab, or another nurse from our research teams. We chose them for two things: a steady hand and a kind manner.
Students and pensioners
A lot of University of Pretoria students already test with us. Show a valid student card, or proof of pension, for 10% off tests and home kits (5% off gut health PCR tests). The discount doesn't apply to the nurse call-out fee.
