What's tested

Which HPV types does it identify?

All 27 strains on the panel, individually typed and grouped by risk, so you and your doctor know exactly what is present rather than a simple positive or negative.

Type-level detail: high-risk HPV types are the ones most linked to cervical changes over time, while low-risk types tend to cause genital warts. Knowing your exact type helps guide how closely to follow up.

High-risk types

16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 68. The high-risk HPV types most associated with cervical and other cancers, the ones worth watching most closely.

Other types that can carry risk

26, 53, 66, 69, 70, 73. Additional types that can carry some risk and are useful to identify.

Low-risk types

6, 11, 40, 42, 43, 44, 54, 61. Low-risk types, linked mainly to genital warts rather than cancer.

The staff at reception as well as the nurses are friendly and professional. I've also always received results timeously. I would give 10 stars if I could.

What this does not do

This panel identifies which HPV types are present. A positive result is common and is not a diagnosis of cancer.

  • Most HPV infections clear on their own; a positive result is not a cancer diagnosis.
  • High-risk types are followed up with cervical screening over time, guided by your doctor.
  • Results are best discussed with a clinician who can advise on follow-up.
  • Results are meant to inform a discussion with a registered practitioner.
