What's tested

What does the screen measure?

The 17 beneficial microbes that do the heavy lifting for your gut: the probiotics and protective bacteria behind digestion, immunity and a strong gut barrier.

Your beneficial bacteria: this screen measures 17 of the most important good microbes in your gut, the probiotics and protective species that keep digestion, immunity and the gut barrier working well. Collected at home, no clinic visit needed.

Beneficial: Bifidobacteria

Bifidobacterium genus, B. bifidum, B. breve, B. lactis, B. longum. Key probiotic species that support digestion, immunity and a balanced gut.

Beneficial: Lactobacilli

Lactobacillus genus, L. acidophilus, L. gasseri, L. helveticus, L. paracasei, L. plantarum, L. reuteri, L. rhamnosus. Probiotic species that aid digestion, crowd out harmful bacteria and support immunity.

Beneficial: other protective microbes

Akkermansia muciniphila, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Roseburia hominis, Streptococcus thermophilus. Microbes that strengthen the gut barrier and produce butyrate, which helps calm inflammation.

The staff at reception as well as the nurses are friendly and professional. I've also always received results timeously. I would give 10 stars if I could.

What this does not do

This is a screen of your beneficial gut microbes. It is a starting point for a conversation and a plan, not a diagnosis on its own.

  • It looks at beneficial microbes; for a full picture including pathogens, see the Complete Gut Profile.
  • Microbiome science is still developing; results are best used to guide diet, probiotics and lifestyle.
  • It does not diagnose a gut condition on its own; unusual findings are discussed with your doctor.
  • Results are meant to inform a discussion with a registered practitioner.
