What does the screen cover?
The most complete panel we offer: 34 targets across the common STIs, the bacteria behind vaginal imbalance, your protective lactobacilli and other organisms, covering everything in the smaller Sexual Health packages and more. From a self-collected swab and urine sample.
Sexually transmitted infections
Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Treponema pallidum, Haemophilus ducreyi, HSV-1, HSV-2, HPV. The full range of common STIs, including syphilis (Treponema pallidum) and chancroid (Haemophilus ducreyi), both herpes types and HPV.
BV-associated and anaerobic bacteria
Gardnerella vaginalis, Atopobium vaginae, BVAB2, Mobiluncus curtisii, M. mulieris, Prevotella bivia, Megasphaera 1 & 2, Bacteroides fragilis. The bacteria linked to bacterial vaginosis and an imbalanced vaginal microbiome.
Protective lactobacilli
Lactobacillus crispatus, L. gasseri, L. iners, L. jensenii. Your protective lactobacilli, the good bacteria that keep the vaginal environment healthy.
Other organisms
Candida spp (7 species), Enterococcus faecalis, E. coli O18, S. aureus, Strep. agalactiae, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma urealyticum. Yeast across seven Candida species, plus other bacteria that can affect vaginal and urinary health.
Which sexual health screen is right for you?
For anyone, whatever your anatomy
This is the most complete screen we offer. It covers everything in the smaller Sexual Health packages and more, 34 targets in total. Because it screens the vaginal microbiome in depth, it is most suited to people with a vagina and cervix.
But anyone can order it, whatever your anatomy. People with a penis can carry the bacteria that drive vaginal imbalance and pass them to a partner, which is a common cause of recurring BV or thrush, so this is also the most thorough option if you want to test and help protect a partner. You provide a swab to match your anatomy and a urine sample, and you can add free throat and anal swabs on request.

What people say
Friendly and competent staff. Both at reception and the nurse. A much simpler process than going through doctors. Thank you ladies.
The staff at reception as well as the nurses are friendly and professional. I've also always received results timeously. I would give 10 stars if I could.
Highly highly highly recommend. The experience was painless and the practice was inviting and well kept. The report was extremely detailed and informative and I would have this as top of my list for preventive care.
Amazing experience, highly professional staff. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
I cannot recommend Juliette and her team enough, friendly and kind from the get go. Bloods were drawn with minimal discomfort and the labs came back quickly.
Excellent experience at Epicentre. The staff were professional, kind, and took time to explain everything clearly. The facility was clean, booking was easy, and I did not feel rushed.
What this does not do
This is a wide screen covering many organisms. Results are read alongside your symptoms, and they are a starting point for a conversation with your doctor.
- Several organisms on this panel can be present normally, including the lactobacilli; detecting one does not always mean treatment is needed.
- Results are best discussed with a clinician who can see the whole picture.
- If you have severe pain, fever or feel very unwell, seek medical care now rather than waiting for results.
- Results are meant to inform a discussion with a registered practitioner.
